Sharpham Park is an organic farm based near Glastonbury in the heart of Somerset, which dates back over 1000 years. It is the family home of Roger Saul, founder of the designer label Mulberry. Over recent years Roger and his wife Monty have nurtured the land back to health, using the best of traditional farming methods, together with sustainable and cutting edge technology. They raise rare breed cattle and sheep, and have reintroduced red deer to the parkland; they also specialise in growing spelt, an ancient cousin of wheat with a delicious nutty taste and a unique structure, making it perfect for those suffering with wheat intolerance. ‘Sharpham Park’, the Saul’s pioneering food brand which champions West Country grown organic spelt, embraces quality food production, manufacturing in small batches and using sustainable accredited packaging wherever possible. Spelt is a highly nutritious grain with a low GI, making it a great energy food. The mill which processes the grain is located on the farm and is thought to be the only one of its kind, dedicated to only processing and stone milling organic spelt.
