Vicki Butler Henderson
Vicki Butler-Henderson is a presenter of Channel Five’s Fifth Gear car show, and is also a former presenter of BBC2’s Top Gear. She also has ten years’ experience as a Road Tester on a variety of UK car magazines.
As much as she is a self-confessed petrol-head, Vicki is also acutely aware of the need for other fuels in the future, and is active in promoting these wherever possible.
She first drove an electric car for Top Gear at the turn of the current century when Peugeot launched a limited edition 206, and she’s gone on to test almost every alternative-powered car on the market since. Her highlights have been Honda’s FCX Clarity – a car that’s powered by hydrogen and electricity. And also the Tesla – an electric supercar she raced up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed a couple of years ago. Silently, of course.
She has been a racing driver since the age of 12 and still competes today in whatever she can get her gloved hands on – most recently a Ferrari F430 and Honda NSX.
In 2004, as part of the support races for the 2004 British Formula One GP, Vicki became the first woman to win a Maserati race in the history of the marque.
