Lawrence Tomlinson is one of the UK’s leading entrepreneurs. He is the founding Chairman of the Leeds-based LNT Group, which houses seven companies under its parentage including Ginetta Cars, LNT Construction and Ideal Care Homes.

Spanning the automotive, construction, chemical and care home sectors, Tomlinson’s business successes have seen his personal wealth swell to £400m a figured which placed him at 178 in the Sunday Times Rich List in 2009. He is a pioneer of green technology having pioneered Ginetta’s electric sports car the G50EV which became the first vehicle to drive through the Channel Tunnel last year with F1 icon John Surtees at the wheel. Lawrence’s home is also powered from a wind turbine which contributes to the national grid.

Also an accomplished racing driver, Mr Tomlinson drove for his own Team LNT in 2006, steering its car to first place, in the GT2 class of the Le Mans 24 hour race. Lawrence is also widely credited as the man who got Formula One legend Nigel Mansell back into top level racing – when Mansell raced a Ginetta-Zytek GZ09S with him at Silverstone last September.
